Present your work

Present your work on aromatic and medicinal plants to the scientific community gathered in Reunion Island, either through oral communication or poster presentation.

Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026

CIPAM brings together at the University of Reunion Island researchers, doctoral students, health professionals and industrialists from overseas territories, mainland France, Europe and the Pacific region.

The communications that will be selected

Presentations will be given orally or as posters during one of four thematic sessions. A prize will be awarded to the best poster from each session at the gala evening on November 3rd.

The four sessions

Each presentation must be assigned to one of the sessions listed below. The scientific committee reserves the right to redirect a proposal to another session.

Pharmacopoeias, ethnopharmacology and traditional knowledge

This session is dedicated to traditional knowledge relating to aromatic and medicinal plants, its transmission, documentation and integration into contemporary research. It aims to foster exchanges between researchers in the humanities and social sciences, ethnobotanists, ethnopharmacologists, health professionals and holders of traditional knowledge.

The communications may cover:

  • Traditional pharmacopoeias and local medicines
  • Ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology
  • Transmission and preservation of traditional knowledge
  • Anthropology of health and the uses of medicinal plants
  • Floristic inventories and ethnopharmacological surveys
  • Scientific validation of traditional uses
  • Ethical, cultural and legal issues related to traditional knowledge

Plant biodiversity, natural resources and the One Health approach

This session focuses on plant biodiversity as a source of scientific innovation and sustainable development. It examines the interactions between ecosystems, natural resources, and human health within an integrated "One Health" approach.

Contributions may address:

  • Tropical and island plant biodiversity
  • Conservation of natural resources
  • Genetic resources and biobanks
  • Plant adaptation to environmental changes
  • Chemical ecology
  • One Health approach applied to medicinal plants
  • Sustainable development and ecosystem preservation
  • Strategies for the sustainable management of biodiversity

Natural molecules and therapeutic innovations

This session is dedicated to the discovery, characterization and biological evaluation of natural substances derived from medicinal plants, as well as the development of new therapeutic approaches.

The communications may concern:

  • Isolation and characterization of natural compounds
  • Chemistry of natural substances
  • Pharmacology and pharmacognosy
  • Antiviral, antibacterial, antiparasitic and antifungal activities
  • Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases
  • Metabolic diseases, inflammatory diseases, and cancers
  • Natural products and immunomodulation
  • Artificial intelligence applied to the discovery of natural molecules
  • Metabolomics, chemometrics and systems biology
  • Plant biotechnology and biomolecule production

Development, innovation and regulation

This session addresses the steps involved in transforming research results into innovations that serve health, the economy, and territorial development.

The communications may cover:

  • Valorization of research results
  • Development of medicinal plant-based products
  • Cosmetics, nutraceuticals and phytotherapy
